Amber Joy Thompson Makeup Artist Amber Joy Thompson is a makeup artist for Halo Brides. She brings with her a lifelong love of beauty. As a child, Amber's favorite toy was a Fisher Price hair salon. She'd spend hours styling her Barbie's hair and makeup. "I have been captivated by weddings, beauty and all things beautiful since I was very young," Amber says. Now, she pours that same passion into her clients at Halo Brides. Amber loves using makeup to transform her bridal clients. "Makeup should enhance a woman's natural features without ever dominating or masking her own beauty and personality," Amber says. Self-taught, Amber began her professional career as makeup artist for a Mykle Coyne photo shoot in 2009. For inspiration, Amber pulls from her clients and the world around her. "Everyone has their own story and background to pull inspiration from," Amber says. "Inspiration is all around us. I am inspired by everything I see - from nature to industrial settings, to an article of clothing or a conversation." She has developed an innate ability to bring out the natural beauty of her subject and loves the impact she can make on her brides' special days. "Makeup can make a positive and significant difference in how a woman looks and feels," she says. "I find such joy in having the opportunity to play a part in one of the biggest days in her life." |

Kaia Bellanca Makeup Artist Before Kaia Bellanca joined the Halo Brides Hair & Makeup team as a makeup artist, she learned all of the basics, starting with majoring in Photography at Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas. While in school, she began modeling and through that, she discovered her love of makeup. She learned makeup From LaDonna Stein and started doing her own makeup for photo shoots. "In the spring of 2010 I declared myself a makeup artist and went for it," Kaia says. "I already had a good network built up from modeling, so the makeup took off right away." She now does makeup for a number of clients and events. People inspire her when she's having fun at shows and events around DFW. When she's not out on the town, she's hanging by the pool, going to movies, and sharing meals with friends. " My style is very eclectic. I have always been a jeans and tank tops kind of girl, and I avoid shoes as much as I can," she says. "But I love to get dolled up and I always have my nails painted and makeup fresh." |
